We are well into the fall season and aside from every type of food and drink item that has pumpkin in it, I am also moving well into my apple cider and apple dessert obsession. With all that being said, I have created these Apple Cider Cinnamon donuts, with real apples, apple cider, and pure apple cider juice!

Place two cups of your peeled apples into a small bowl and set aside for later use (the two cored apples fills about 2 1/2 cups, so you can either toss the other 1/2 cup or enjoy yourself!). 4. In a large bowl, whisk together the plain yogurt, egg whites, vegetable shortening, pure apple juice, and vanilla extract. Set aside for later use.

While your donuts are cooling, you can prepare your brown butter glaze to top off these apple cider cinnamon donuts! I came across this glaze one day from a fellow baker, Katie Wahlman, and her own apple cider donuts creation (her link, along with with the link to this beautiful silicone baking sheet from Kuhn Rikon, are at the bottom of this recipe!)! It is one of the best donut glazes I have ever stumbled upon, and I would like to pass this glaze along to you as well with my apple cider cinnamon donut creation!

For Brown Butter Glaze: 1. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to a small saucepan and melt over medium-low heat, mixing together with a wooden spatula. 2. Melt the additional 1 tablespoon of butter in a medium saucepan. Add the brown sugar and cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 2 to 3 minutes.3. Add in the browned butter and mix well. Add the milk and stir until smooth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then transfer to your clean stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes. 4. Once slightly cooled, add the powdered sugar, vanilla, pinch of salt, and pinch of cinnamon (NOTE: you will not use the full two tablespoons of cinnamon, this is primarily so you will have enough cinnamon for the glaze and to top each of your donuts) and mix until smooth. If the glaze appears thick, add in the tablespoon of water. NOTE: You'll want to glaze your donuts immediately, as this glaze hardens pretty quickly.
To glaze your donuts:   1. Pour the glaze into a wide bowl. 2. Dip each donut half way into the glaze   3. As you lift each donut out, shake a little to remove excess glaze, then place on a cooling rack to set (with parchment paper undern

As you lift each donut out, shake a little to remove excess glaze, then place on a cooling rack to set (with parchment paper underneath to catch excess glaze). 4. Garnish with a small pinch of ground cinnamon on top of each donut and enjoy!
